Third Climate Coffee Belgrade Gathering

May 29, 2026

The third Climate Coffee gathering was held on the 29th May in Belgrade

The third gathering confirmed that Climate Coffee Belgrade is growing and becoming international! Last week, guests from abroad joined, which encouraged the exchange of knowledge and discussions in multiple languages.

Honestly, I am delighted with the already visible energy and I am very proud of what we have achieved with regular Climate Coffee in such a short time.

Topics discussed last week include:

Adaptation measures in practice: how Austrian municipalities take concrete adaptation measures to climate change.

From health to energy: It was discussed how people's health is inextricably linked to climate and sustainable topics and habits, and that there are complex challenges in the electricity sector.

Investments and development: They discussed finding opportunities for sustainable investments and further development of the energy sector, not only in Serbia, but also through a regional perspective in Montenegro.

Guests from abroad gave this gathering a special value. In addition to local lawyers, engineers, academic workers and activists, colleagues from Austria, Spain, and France also came. This is precisely what showed how important cross-border cooperation is for such gatherings, as well as the exchange of practices that individuals and companies can adopt on their sustainable paths.

💡A great example from practice on the sustainability of corporate events (events) or conferences, and even those on sustainability, stood out in particular.

In order for a company that regularly organizes events to be more sustainable and responsible, it is a practice to accurately measure the amount of waste generated during corporate events. The example showed that one company was able to make more sustainable and responsible choices through regular measurement of the amount of waste, as well as to directly influence the practices of catering service providers (for example drawing attention to excessive plastic packaging).

When you get a clear picture of how much food waste, packaging and plastic is left, you change the rules of the whole game. Supply chain.

Thanks to everyone who came, and I can't wait to see where we go next.
