The Center for Sustainable Society supports the monthly gatherings of the global Climate Coffee Network
The first Climate Coffee in Belgrade showed that solutions to complex challenges lie primarily in connection and joint action.
When we deal with the topics of climate change, sustainability, as well as environmental protection, regardless of whether we work in these areas, research or are interested, we often remain isolated in our "bubbles" surrounded by people with similar experiences and knowledge.
However, the first gathering already showed the value of connecting different perspectives primarily for the exchange of ideas and the famous "aha" moment.
The solutions are not always in criticism but also in actively taking action.
At the first gathering there were: lawyers, lawyers, engineers and IT experts, and the value is precisely that this kind of setting has a lot of room for further development.
The bottom line is clear: Multidisciplinarity is essential, especially with complex challenges like climate change both locally, nationally and globally, so it's very important to sit down and start talking to people from other fields/disciplines/experiences.
At the same time, it is important that every challenge is also an opportunity to create new collaborations and ideas.
But above all, a necessary prerequisite is a space where everyone is welcome and where they will be free to say what they have.
Despite the challenges, the energy brought by the participants shows that Belgrade has a strong community ready for action.
The Center for Sustainable Society is pleased to support Climate coffee Belgrade monthly gatherings, recognizing them as a key point for building a strong and active community in Belgrade that is ready to take concrete steps.
